The garden is an idyllic representation of the cosmos. The visitor embarks on an initiatory journey overcoming lifes’s obstacles and labyrinths in his transformation through the help of Ariadne’s thread related to Greek Mythology.

Thus the visitor feels in the garden the mystery of an underground and labyrinthine world and also the transation to a humanized spiritual consciousness represented by the great epics, such as the Greek Mythology and its gods and in particular the Templar mission of the Order of Christ and the reference to the poet Luís de Camões, one of the outstanding figures in the navigation of the history of Portugal.

The Initiatic Well (N) is one of the main attractions of Quinta da Regaleira, twenty seven meters deep and with a monumental spiral staircase. It is a space based on Alchemy and Hermeticism where the relationship between Earth and Heaven is intensified in the sense of a new world beyond matter, that is with a new spiritual consciousness.

A selfie to end the visit of Quinta da Regaleira

After the fantastic tour we went to lunch at the restaurant Curral dos Caprinos of traditional Portuguese food about five kilometers from Quinta da Regaleira.

The chosen dishes were: grilled cuttlefish and pork loin with garlic. It was very appetizing!
